You don't miss your water until your well runs dry?
Water, Water everywhere, but not a drop to drink?
Blood is thicker than water.
Every year, 1.9 million children under five die from a lack of water - over 5000 children each day. Today, a child dies every 15 seconds from a water-related illness. By the year 2025, 6 billion people will not have access to clean water. A growing awareness among scientists, governments, and non-governmental organizations is that the Earth's water supply is not infinite which has led to new research initiatives and even debate over water as a human right.
Silent Water is a short fictional film that focuses on one family in one village where people have the same needs as everyone in the world - water and love. The story includes elements of comedy and drama to keep an audience engaged and entertained but ultimately inform them that water is a resource and we must act NOW to keep future generations' thirst quenched.
Alongside the film, this site will transform into a place where fans can help us make an immediate impact on the ground by donating money that will be used to build water pumps in India. The site will also have multimedia content about the issue of water scarcity in India and short videos that show how your money is being used to bring water to those who need it. This is our chance to bring clean water to India and your chance to get involved NOW.
Our goal is simple:
1) Entertain - we aim to make compelling fiction that sticks to the truth but can draw a large audience
2) Organize - we want to organize our fans in a way that's never been possible before
3) Build - we will build wells and water pumps all across India
Entertain, Organize, Build - it's pretty simple really.
With the help of Charity: Water we aim to be the "change we want to see in the world."
You too can be the change by helping us. We've already had one successful fundraiser and are planning another.
